Handy Man – Weekend Warrior – DIY – Product Spotlight — modern flooring photography

A new product offering was announced recently from Handyman’s Choice which was a very smart and simple flooring concept:

A laminate flooring built for homes AC3 level (which is great for most home environments) but with a pad attached to it.

The pad basically means everything you need to install the flooring is in the package. All you do is open the packages, click the flooring together, staggering the end joints like normal. Then trim the ends at the walls. Add your transition pieces and Viola! you are done. (if you have a concrete subfloor you still will require a moisture barrier)

The attached underlayment is pretty decent quality as well. Having seen European lamiantes with pad attached – which is often the cheapest pad known to man, this padding is much more dense and is very good at sound resistance. If you are concerned about sound transmission it is still recommended to add a high quality underlayment in cases of higher level floors, condominiums or homes where the 2nd floor is getting new flooring.

The best part is the introduction pricing. This floor is most often sold at more than $2.00 per foot and seems to be at a very attractive price right now.
