Flooring for decking

One thing I noticed recently is that there is a bigger increase in people looking to extend unique and innovative looks onto their decking. One trend is the people in Europe and on the coasts of the USA and in western Canada people were selecting IPE as a long term hardwood that is very tough, very good looking and in the past was reasonably priced. However, with the tough new import standards for the US and with similiar legislation in the EU and Canada there will be a large increase in price on IPE and other exotic timber that was used as a cheap source.

This may give rise to a recent introduction of strand bamboo being used as exterior decking. I saw some very innovative styles and designs while in China last week that supports that this may be the next big thing. It is priced right, looks cool and I expect to see it being sold more and more in the EU as well as the US and Canada.
