Flooring that Fits

Here’s a quick tip of the day:
When installing your floating flooring (or fitting your floors for our British friends) you need to consider what type of expansion space may be required for the product.
A typical minimum expansion joint is about 1/4″. In some cases the expansion joint may need to be closer to 1/2″ depending on the conditions of the home, the size of the areas and type of flooring.
Also don’t forget that narrow doorways can also cause a point of constriction for a floating floor if you try to just install the floor through them rather than using a T-Molding, therefore I would advise that a T-molding at doorways is generally a good idea.
There are more rules related to this, but your local iFLOOR flooring experts should be able to guide you through that if your are going to do a DIY Flooring installation or you can rely on the iFLOOR professional installers to work out these details for you.
Good luck
