Can I use Underlayment in a Glue Down Installation

Q: Can I use an underlayment on concrete with a glue down cork tile? I want to ensure there is enough cushioning as the cork is not as thick as a ceramic tile.
A: If you are going to be gluing down this floor, you can use underlayment, but you will have to be very specific about it. To do this, you must use a cork underlayment and you will have to glue down the underlayment and wait for the adhesive to cure. Then glue down the flooring over the top of the underlayment.
An install like this tends to be more common in condos where a certain level of noise reduction is required by HOAs (Home Owners Association). In this case I heavily recommend you get assistance from a professional installer.
