Welcome to Dalton, Georgia – Carpet & Flooring Capital of the World.

Well I was really hard pressed for time in Dalton, GA – Flooring Capital of the World, but I snapped a few photos.
To add a little backdrop. Dalton is a town of maybe 40,000 people with at least 130 carpet and flooring stores.
It has been a destination for carpet for a long time (decades) and now most of the stores are getting into hard surface flooring as well. It is truly and incredible town with some of the most successful and visionary minds in the flooring business.
There are a ton of respected companies in the area in both retail and manufacturing.
Here are some photos that give you an idea of what the “Carpet Connector” is all about. Most people who have not been to Dalton would find it hard to believe how Exit 328 is so flooring focused, but I hope the pictures share a touch of the experience. (There are tons more stores that I didn’t have time to photo both at Exit 328 for Dalton, Back in Calhoun and frankly all over the place.
The King of Billboards – Georgia Carpet Industries! I saw more billboards from them along I-75 thank any other company. They must work. 🙂
D&D Carpet Sales – What can I say – the sign is noticeable.
Parker’s Carpet – Classic Red – very nice indeed. The rich red refined look is something that I am sure stands out on the Dalton Carpet Connector.
Carpet Express – Once again the theme of signs that get noticed is working. It is clearly a great tool here in Dalton, GA.
A more subdued look, but clearly very Successful Meyers Carpet. They have a nice store front.
The great Beckler’s Carpet – an I-75 tradition for years. Their building is magnificent and certainly one of the finest facilities in Dalton!
The Carpet Barn has a nice location along the main road.
The Woodworks I believe has some really nice signage. Clean and vibrant.
Dalton Carpets – Loud and Proud. It will get some attention for sure.
There were a ton of rug liquidators as well – hard to tell who is who for me – but certainly “active” sign displays were everywhere.
Floormax has another very clean visual on their store front. I think that can be effective too.
Carpets of Dalton is one of the most well known Dalton flooring guys. They have a beautiful showroom full of flooring and furniture. A true destination.
This was a bill board for Carpet Alley, I didn’t find the store – but I was driving so it was hard to see everything.
Of course – if you are in Dalton and you are looking for flooring I have a personal favorite! As you turn up Parquet road you will see the iFLOOR billboard and orange paint lighting the way. Come on up ya’ll!
Here is a shot of the billboard and our building. But I think the gang down the street has taught me some value signage advice. Look for our future bill boards to have a more LOUD and PROUD appearance!
